Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy Temple Annual Festival Celebrated at Sri City
Special Homams Performed for Societal Welfare, Timely Rains and Nature’s Well-being
The annual festival of Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Sri City was celebrated with great devotion, attracting devotees from the Sri City community and neighbouring villages. Set amidst Sri City’s lush green surroundings, the temple provided a serene backdrop for the spiritual celebrations.
The celebrations commenced on Friday evening with a series of religious rituals, including Maha Sankalpam, Kalasha Sthaapana, Punyahavachanam, and the recitation of Vishnu Sahasranamam. Mr. R. Janardhana Reddy, along with his wife, performed the rituals.
On Saturday, a series of special poojas and homams, including Ganapati Homam, Navagraha Homam, and Sudarshana Homam, were conducted. Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director of Sri City, and his wife participated in the rituals and performed the homams amid the reverberating chants of Vedic hymns.
Pleased with the enthusiastic participation of devotees, Dr. Sannareddy encouraged the Sri City community to visit the temple and seek the blessings of Lord Venkateswara.
Speaking on the occasion, he said, “These homams were performed with prayers for the welfare of society, timely and adequate rainfall, and the protection of nature. At a time when the world is experiencing the effects of climate variability, including El Niño, we prayed for favourable climatic conditions, good rains, and the well-being and prosperity of all. We believe that such spiritual observances strengthen our collective sense of harmony, gratitude and responsibility towards society and nature.”
Teertha Prasadam and Anna Prasadam were distributed to all devotees. The participants expressed their joy at being part of the sacred celebrations and having the darshan of the Lord.
The celebrations were coordinated by Mr. Manipratap, Mr. P. Balaji and Mr. P.S.B. Sastry. The event once again underscored the temple’s significance as an important spiritual and cultural centre of the Sri City community.
