Participating in the ” Raksha Expo” Curtain raiser programme today , the Chief Minister highlighted the state government’s vision to develop ‘Raksha Expo’ into an international platform to bring together all stakeholders from the defense sector for meaningful dialogue.
The CM explained Hyderabad was holding a strategic and pivotal position within India. The city of Hyderabad is an exceptionally safe city and serves as the home to numerous significant research institutions. Furthermore, several vital strategic centers for the Indian Army and the Indian Air Force are located here.
Telangana is the only state in South India that does not have a coastline. Nevertheless, the state provides critical services to the Indian Navy, CM Revanth Reddy said that a Very Low Frequency (VLF) naval radar station is being constructed in the Damagundam Reserve Forest of Vikarabad district in Telangana.
Inviting all participants to attend the ‘Invest Telangana Global Summit,’ which will be held from December 7 to 9 at ‘Bharat Future City’ in Hyderabad, the CM said the first edition of the summit
held last year, was a great success.
It is very delightful moment that many prominent persons from the defence, space, aerospace, and security sectors were attending the curtain raiser programme and leading organizations from our industrial landscape are also represented here, the CM said ” We have among us representatives from major entities such as DRDO, HAL, BDL, Midhani, the Tata Group, Airbus, Skyroot, Lockheed Martin, and Bharat Forge”.
CM Revanth Reddy emphasized that the defence sector required talented youth.
The premier educational institutions such as IITs, IIITs, NITs, ISB, and BITS would cater to the needs of the defence sector. We already established the ‘Young India Skills University’ to develop a skilled human resource base and upgraded the ITIs into Advanced Training Centers (ATCs). Furthermore, there are successful incubators operating here.
Stating that his aspiration is to see India emerge as a global leader in the defense sector, the Chief Minister stressed that India must transition from being an importer of defence-related technology to becoming an exporter of such technology. The capability to deter adversaries from initiating conflict provides us with a strategic advantage.
Telangana is already making significant efforts to realize this vision, the CM said, however, it is essential that you all contribute further to achieve even greater successes. Telangana should emerge as the largest industrial hub for India’s defense sector. The Chief Minister hoped that the meeting will collaborate not only in the defence sector but also in allied fields such as space, aerospace, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and drone technology to help realize this goal.
Appealing to the investors to double their planned investments in Telangana, CM Revanth Reddy reiterated that the government will extend full cooperation.
The Chief Minister noted that Telangana is already playing a significant role in achieving the targets and there is also much more to be accomplished. ” Telangana must become the premier industrial hub for India’s defence industry”, the CM said seeking the cooperation of all stakeholders.
The Chief Minister highlighted ‘Telangana Rising: Vision 2047’ document, which outlined the goal to transform Telangana into a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047. Telangana currently accounts for over 2.5 percent of the nation’s population and contributed 5 percent to the country’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP). ” My goal is to increase this share to 10 percent by 2047″, the CM said defence manufacturing, aerospace, and allied sectors will play a pivotal role in realizing this vision.
CM Revanth Reddy also said that “Raksha Expo” will serve as a premier platform, bringing together global Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs). The Chief Minister made it clear that there is no “policy paralysis” in the state. Although political differences exists, there is complete consensus when it comes to investments and development.
“We possessed intelligent, skilled human capital and all the necessary resources.
Above all, we have a clear development policy, a firm resolve, and a strong drive to move forward. Let us all work together to transform India into a global leader and a powerful nation in the defence.
