Litemed India Launches ‘Curapod M’, an Innovative Health-Tech Device for Menstrual Pain
Hyderabad-based health-tech firm Litemed India has officially launched Curapod M, a science-led, drug-free, and hormone-free product engineered specifically to combat menstrual pain and cramps. Fully designed and manufactured in India, the device has been licensed by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO) and registered with the U.S. FDA, debuting with an indicative launch price of ₹11,999 across major e-commerce platforms and retail channels.
Photobiomodulation Technology and Clinical Results:
At its core, Curapod M utilizes medical-grade photobiomodulation (PBM) combined with adaptive personalization and digital intelligence. Rather than merely masking discomfort, the technology targets the biological pathways associated with menstrual pain, including prostaglandin-linked cramping mechanisms.
In clinical evaluations, 80% of women reported experiencing zero pain after using the device. Designed to be worn on the lower abdomen, the compact unit allows users to manage cramps seamlessly throughout their daily routines without having to pause their schedules.
Addressing the Socio-Economic Impact of Menstrual Pain:
The launch addresses a widespread issue highlighted by a recent 2025 meta-analysis showing a 53% prevalence of menstrual cramps among Indian adolescent girls. Studies indicate that menstrual pain results in an estimated 1.88 billion hours of lost work and school time annually in India, with affected individuals being nearly five times more likely to miss college and significantly more prone to reduced concentration and work dissatisfaction.
Company leadership including Founder & CTO Surya Prakash, Co-Founder & CEO Sri Velliyur, and CMO Aditi Wadhwa emphasized that Curapod M aims to shift the narrative from enduring discomfort as an inevitable part of life to proactively managing it through advanced science. Supported by a companion app that learns user cycle and pain patterns to anticipate future intensity, Curapod M builds upon Curapod’s broader pain-tech platform, which already serves over 50,000 Indian households.
