SriLankan Airlines Restores Complete Middle East Network With Kuwait Service Resumption

SriLankan Airlines has officially reestablished its comprehensive presence across the Middle East by bringing back six weekly flights to Kuwait, effectively completing the full restoration of its regional flight network. With this final addition, the airline’s Middle East operationscovering Riyadh, Dammam, Dubai, Doha, and Kuwait are fully operational once again, offering travelers a dependable and consistent schedule.

Strategic Connections and South Indian Gateway:
The restored network is structured to provide seamless flight connections via Colombo, linking the Middle East to several major southern Indian cities including Chennai, Tiruchirappalli, Thiruvananthapuram, Madurai, and Cochin in under 90 minutes. Dimuthu Tennakoon, Head of Commercial at SriLankan Airlines, emphasized that celebrating over 40 years of connecting passengers to the Middle East marks a major milestone in restoring this convenient connectivity alongside traditional hospitality.

Fawzan Fareid, Regional Manager for India, Bangladesh, and Nepal, noted that despite recent operational challenges in the Middle East, the airline successfully pivoted by reinforcing other markets and maintaining its commitment to Indian consumers. India remains SriLankan Airlines’ largest market, anchored by 90 weekly flights connecting Colombo to major hubs such as Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Madurai, and Tiruchirappalli.

Passengers journeying with the airline can experience signature Sri Lankan hospitality paired with an award-winning menu featuring both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, including local regional favorites.
