Governor Brian Kemp Appoints Narender Reddy to Board of Newly Formed Georgia Transportation Efficiency Authority
ATLANTA, GA — In a major development for regional infrastructure management, prominent Indian American entrepreneur and community leader Narender Reddy has been officially appointed by Governor Brian Kemp to serve on the board of the newly created Georgia Transportation Efficiency Authority (GTEA).
The state agency was established to modernize long-term transit planning, strengthen inter-agency coordination, and maximize operational performance across Georgia. Expressing his gratitude, Reddy described the appointment as both a distinct honor and a vital opportunity to continue driving the state’s infrastructure policies forward after more than two decades of dedicated public service.
GTEA: Modernizing and Consolidating Georgia’s Transit Framework
The Georgia Transportation Efficiency Authority (GTEA) was established via landmark legislation approved by the Georgia General Assembly in April 2026. Designed to introduce a highly coordinated, business-oriented approach to public infrastructure governance, the new authority will consolidate existing operational expertise and streamline key functions previously handled by two separate entities:
- The Atlanta-Region Transit Link Authority (ATL)
- The Georgia Regional Transportation Authority (GRTA)
As Georgia continues to navigate rapid population growth and shifting infrastructure demands—most notably across the dense Atlanta metropolitan area—GTEA will focus heavily on accelerating economic development, regional mobility, and transit delivery efficiency.
A 22-Year Legacy in Regional Transportation Policy
Reddy’s transition to the GTEA board follows an extensive 22-year tenure on the board of the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority (GRTA). His long-standing commitment to regional transit policy spans the administrations of three consecutive Georgia governors. He was initially appointed to the post by former Governor Sonny Perdue, reappointed by former Governor Nathan Deal, and subsequently retained by Governor Brian Kemp.
In an official statement detailing his new responsibilities, Reddy shared:
“For the past 22 years, I have had the privilege of serving on the Board of the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue serving the people of our great state and to contribute to Georgia’s transportation future through this new role. Thank you to Governor Kemp for his confidence and trust. I look forward to working with my fellow board members to help advance transportation efficiency, mobility, and economic growth across Georgia.”
Decades of Commercial and Financial Expertise
A resident of Georgia for over 35 years, Reddy brings deep private-sector experience in commercial real estate, corporate finance, and banking to the new authority. He operates as the founder and president of Sterling Realty Services, Inc., a commercial real estate firm, and previously served as a founding director of Quantum National Bank, where he leveraged his market insights to evaluate commercial lending opportunities and corporate loan structures. Reddy holds an M.B.A. from the University of Evansville.
This latest appointment marks a brand-new chapter in Reddy’s extensive involvement with transit policy and regional planning, both of which remain critical to sustaining Georgia’s long-term economic competitiveness and overall quality of life.
