Alpenliebe and Swiggy Launch Sweetest City Challenge to Promote Kindness
Alpenliebe: In a heartwarming initiative, Alpenliebe, from the house of Perfetti Van Melle India, has partnered with Swiggy to launch the Sweetest City Challenge. This unique campaign aims to celebrate the vital role of delivery partners in India’s gig economy by encouraging consumers to replace indifference with small gestures of gratitude and warmth.
Addressing the Need for Connection:
The campaign is rooted in insights from Alpenliebe’s India’s Sweetness Report, which surveyed approximately 28,000 delivery partners. The findings highlighted a significant gap in daily interactions:
Nearly 40% of delivery partners rated their customer experiences as below average.
1 in 4 deliveries concluded without a simple greeting or acknowledgment from the customer.
To bridge this gap, the challenge invites consumers across 20+ major cities including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Pune, Chennai, and Kolkata to transform these fleeting interactions into meaningful moments. Whether it is a polite “thank you,” a welcoming smile, or offering a glass of water, the campaign emphasizes that kindness can significantly enhance a delivery partner’s day.

Gunjan Khetan, Director of Marketing at Perfetti Van Melle India, noted that the initiative seeks to make the brand a catalyst for positive societal change. “The Sweetest City Challenge reflects our belief that meaningful conversations bring people together and inspire thoughtful actions,” Khetan stated.
Supporting this, Komal Arora of Swiggy’s Drivers and Delivery Organization emphasized the value of the human element in convenience services. “Delivery partners are a key pillar of our business,” Arora said. “By fostering better, more meaningful everyday interactions, we want to celebrate the vital role they play in enabling convenience for millions of consumers.”
