Consulate General of India in Los Angeles Celebrates India’s 80th Independence Day

LOS ANGELES — The Consulate General of India in Los Angeles hosted celebrations for India’s 80th Independence Day on August 15, 2026, at the consulate premises located at 707 Wilshire Blvd., Suite 4500, Los Angeles, CA 90017.

Event Schedule and Highlights
Flag Hoisting: The celebrations commenced at 8:30 AM with the unfurling of the National Flag by Dr. K. J. Srinivasa, Consul General of India.

Ceremonial Program: Following the flag hoisting, attendees participated in the singing of the National Anthem and national song, accompanied by remarks from the Consul General.

Awards and Felicitation: As part of the festivities, winners of the “Bharat Ko Janiye” Quiz were recognized and felicitated by the Consul General.

Community Gathering: The program ran from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM, bringing together members of the Indian community and friends of India to celebrate in the spirit of unity, patriotism, and shared cultural heritage.
