U.S. Ambassador Sergio Gor Visits TLMAL Facility in Hyderabad to Highlight Defense Partnership
U.S. Ambassador to India, Sergio Gor, recently visited the Tata Lockheed Martin Aerostructures Limited (TLMAL) facility in Hyderabad, Telangana, to underscore the expanding U.S.-India defense and industrial partnership. The visit highlighted industrial development, aerospace cooperation, and the ongoing Medium Transport Aircraft (MTA) requirement.
During his visit, Ambassador Gor toured the production line dedicated to manufacturing empennages for the C-130J Super Hercules, illustrating the crucial part Indian industry plays in supporting the world’s leading airlifter platform.
Key Highlights from the Visit
Strengthened Cooperation: Ambassador Gor emphasized that producing critical C-130J structures in India demonstrates growing bilateral defense cooperation, supports high-skilled jobs, creates resilient supply chains, and advances a shared vision for a secure Indo-Pacific.
MRO Expansion: Tata Advanced Systems’ new Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility is scheduled to open in December of this year, with aircraft arrival slated for Spring 2027.
Proven Partnership: Tata Advanced Systems and Lockheed Martin have invested in their joint venture for over 15 years, successfully integrating Indian manufacturing into the global aerospace supply chain and establishing capabilities to meet future MTA competition requirements.
