Montra Electric Partners with MoRTH to Boost Fleet Modernization in Delhi-NCR
Montra Electric has signed two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH) to support the government’s policy for replacing old trucks and buses within the National Capital Region (NCR). These agreements were signed by the company’s e-MHCV and e-SCV businesses to facilitate the adoption of electric commercial vehicles (CVs) in the region.
Objectives and Impact:
The initiative is designed to address several critical environmental and operational goals:
Emission Reduction: The primary objective of the NCRPB policy is to replace aging, polluting commercial vehicles with electric alternatives to improve air quality through zero vehicular emissions.
National Objectives: This transition supports India’s broader decarbonization goals.
Fleet Transition: Montra Electric will provide its specialized solutions to eligible fleet operators, accelerating the shift toward cleaner freight movement.
Montra Electric’s Portfolio:
Montra Electric is utilizing its diverse product lineup to meet the needs of operators transitioning to sustainable transportation:
Medium and Heavy-Duty Trucks: The Rhino series provides electric solutions for heavier freight requirements.
Small Commercial Trucks: The EVIATOR series addresses the needs for small commercial electric vehicle segments.
The government’s replacement scheme is expected to be a key driver in reducing emissions from legacy internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles while fostering an ecosystem conducive to the rapid adoption of electric trucks.
