L’Oréal Global Tech Hub Partners with BITS Pilani Hyderabad to Drive Beauty Tech Innovation

HYDERABAD, INDIA — L’Oréal’s Global Tech Hub has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus to accelerate artificial intelligence, data engineering, and Beauty Tech innovation. The strategic collaboration provides L’Oréal with structured access to academic talent while offering students real-world exposure to tech applications in the global beauty industry.

The agreement was signed at the BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus in the presence of Mario Guasco (HR Director for Beauty Tech, L’Oréal), Prashant Vijay (Head of Global Tech Hub in India, L’Oréal), Prof. D. Sriram (Director In-Charge, BITS Pilani Hyderabad), Prof. M. Krishnamoorthy (Director – IRIS), and Prof. Vamsi Krishna Venuganti (Dean AGSRD).

Key Partnership Initiatives:
Academic & Industry Exchange: Joint hosting of hackathons, innovation challenges, guest lectures, seminars, and curriculum development.

On-Campus Engagement: Visiting L’Oréal executives showcased real-world applications of Generative AI, Agentic AI, and large-scale data engineering to students.

Talent Access: Facilitates campus recruitment and direct channels for talent acquisition across tech, AI, and data domains.

Strategic Context
First announced at the World Economic Forum in January 2026, L’Oréal’s Hyderabad-based Global Tech Hub represents an investment of over ₹3,500 Crores (€350 million) through 2030. The hub serves as a flagship facility aimed at leveraging Data, AI, Generative AI, and Agentic AI to power the next generation of global beauty services.

Commenting on the MoU, Prashant Vijay highlighted that access to top engineering talent will accelerate L’Oréal’s AI ambitions. Prof. Mohan Krishnamurthy noted that the association opens up strong possibilities in life sciences, data, AI applications, sustainability, and advanced product research.
