Hyundai Motor India Expands EV Charging Ecosystem with 30,000+ Points Access
Hyundai Motor India Limited (HMIL) has announced a major expansion of its electric vehicle (EV) charging ecosystem, now providing users access to over 30,000 charging points across India through the myHyundai app. This integrated network, developed in partnership with multiple Charge Point Operators (CPOs), is designed to simplify the EV ownership experience by offering a single platform for location discovery, navigation, advance booking, and digital payments. Importantly, this service is open to EV owners of all brands, reflecting HMIL’s broader commitment to accelerating electric mobility in India.
Strategic Expansion of Charging Infrastructure:
HMIL is actively scaling its own proprietary charging infrastructure to complement its partner network:
Current Reach: There are currently 183 DC fast-charging stations operational across 105 cities in India.
Future Scaling: HMIL plans to expand this network to 600 stations by 2030, strategically placing them in key cities, along major highways, and at HMIL dealerships.
Charging Solutions: The company currently offers high-capacity DC fast-charging solutions ranging from 60 kW to 240 kW.
Geographic Coverage: Through the myHyundai app, users can access charging facilities within an average radius of 25 km across the country, including critical highway corridors like Delhi-Gurgaon-Jaipur, Mumbai-Pune-Bengaluru, and Hyderabad-Kurnool-Bengaluru.
Commitment to Sustainability and Future Roadmap:
HMIL’s charging initiatives serve as a catalyst for cleaner mobility. Between January 2023 and June 2026, the company’s charging services were accessed by more than 3 lakh EV users, delivering over 50 lakh kWh of energy. This utilization has directly contributed to environmental sustainability, helping save approximately 3.5 million kg of CO₂ emissions. Additionally, as part of its upcoming product strategy, HMIL plans to enter the mass-market EV segment by introducing an SUV EV within this financial year.
