Godrej Capital Acquires Kanakadurga Finance to Enter Gold Loan Market
Godrej Capital, rapidly expanding its footprint in the financial services sector, has officially made its foray into the gold loan market. The company, through its subsidiary Godrej Finance, has successfully acquired the gold loan business of Kanakadurga Finance Limited. This strategic acquisition is a crucial step toward Godrej Capital’s ambitious long-term objective of achieving an Assets Under Management (AUM) of ₹1 lakh crore by the year 2031.
Through this deal, Godrej Capital immediately absorbs a ready-made, functional network. The key assets and infrastructure acquired from Kanakadurga Finance include:
– 54 operational branches located across Andhra Pradesh
– A robust loan portfolio valued at ₹280 crore
– An active customer base of approximately 12,000 individuals
– A dedicated workforce of 250 employees

On the other side of the agreement, Kanakadurga Finance Joint MDs Jayaprakash Narayana and Sriman Narayana expressed their satisfaction with the transition.
