Schools Students took part in Srivani’s Spiritual & Educational Programme

Under the joint auspices of Sri City Foundation and Srivani (Sri City‘s Spiritual & Literary Forum), a spiritual and educational programme was held, in which the students of Irugulam and Madanapalem Government High Schools participated in large number on Saturday. They all enthusiastically participated in various activities. At Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy Temple located at Aruru Nursery premises they took part in the Govindanama recital programme. Later, some of the talented students entertained the gathering by performing wonderful dances to various spiritual songs and folk songs.
Later, the students in small groups were taken for a field trip to the nearby nursery. They witnessed a myriad variety of plants and acquainted with different types of saplings and plants. Sri City Horticulture officials gave information about the different plants, their importance and the need to protect and conserve them. On the whole, the field was an informative and enjoyable experience for the students and teachers.
There was quiz programme on nature, greenery and plants, in which the students actively participated. Prizes were given to all the participants. Sri City Foundation distributed good quality notebooks and pens to all the students. Also, they were all given ‘Made @ Sri City’ Cadbury chocolates and snacks gifted by Mondelez unit.
All together 75 students of classes 8, 9, 10 and 10 teachers from Irugulam and Madanapalem Government High Schools took part in this event. Teachers described it as a wonderful experience for their students. “Learning beyond the textbook is what they did in this field trip and acquired knowledge of different types of plants around them,” said a teacher, and thanked the management of Sri City for frequently providing opportunity to their students for awareness visits.
Head, Horticulture Madhureddy, Sri City Foundation Senior Manager Surendra Kumar, PROs Ravi D and Paleti Balaji, and Consultant PBS Sastry coordinated the students’ programme.
