Mondelez & Sri City Foundation Join Forces to Promote Cleanliness in Local Schools

In a commendable initiative aligned with the 'Swachhta Hi Seva' campaign, Mondelez has distributed dustbins to government schools in the vicinity of Sri City, costing around Rs.1 lakh. This effort, coordinated by Sri City Foundation, aims to instil the importance of cleanliness and proper waste management among students.

The Sri City Foundation has taken this initiative a step further by creating pits for depositing organic waste, which will be converted into organic manure. This practical approach not only addresses waste management but also educates students about the benefits of recycling and composting.

At a special event organized to mark this initiative, Ms. Ravali, HR Manager of Mondelez, Mrs. Nireesha Sannareddy, Manager of CSR at Sri City, Mr. Venkanna and Mr. Aman of Mondelez addressed the gathering. They emphasised the critical importance of maintaining clean premises and the proper segregation and disposal of waste.

"This program is not just about distributing dustbins," said Mrs. Nireesha Sannareddy. "It's about educating our future generations on the importance of cleanliness and responsible waste management. We believe that by instilling these values early, we can create a lasting impact on our community and environment."

Mr. Mohideen, Headmaster of ZPHS Irugulam, along with headmasters from other participating schools, were present at the event. They received dustbins for their respective schools, symbolising the beginning of this important educational and environmental initiative.

The collaboration between Mondelez, Sri City Foundation, and local schools demonstrates a commitment to corporate social responsibility and environmental stewardship. By engaging students directly, the initiative aims to create a ripple effect of awareness and action throughout the community.
