Group CEO, APEITA visits Sri City

Mr. Kiran Salikireddy, Group CEO, Andhra Pradesh Electronics & Information Technology Agency (APEITA), along with a team of officials visited Sri City on Friday. Mr. Satish Kamat, President (Operations), Sri City gave a warm reception and briefed them on the unique features and industrial progress of Sri City, which comprises a Special Economic Zone (SEZ), a Domestic Tariff Zone (DTZ), Free Trade Ware housing Zone (FTWZ) and an Electronic Manufacturing Cluster (EMC), all in its precincts.

Mr. Kiran evinced keen interest and inquired on different aspects of Sri City, particularly on the units in electronic sector and the status of EMC. Following the briefing session, they all went round the industrial park and visited the production units of Blue Star Climatech Ltd., and Daikin India. He had a discussion with the respective senior managers of the companies regarding the manpower, skill development, and solicited feedback on the industrial policies of state Government. 

Impressed with the world-class industrial infrastructure of Sri City, Mr. Kiran appreciated the efforts of Sri City management for developing such a mega industrial park, that created ample employment opportunities.  

Annotating on the visit, Mr. Ravindra Sannareddy said that Mr. Kiran Salikireddy’s visit is very important for Sri City and his observations and suggestion will be very valuable. 

The intent of the visit was to look at the existing business friendly ambience and established ecosystem for electronic manufacturing sector in Sri City. 

APEITA, an autonomous society of Government of Andhra Pradesh, was established as an ‘Empowered Mission for Electronics & IT Promotion’ to boost the development of the sector and take faster and agile decisions. Among other tasks to promote electronics and IT industry in the state, the agency is entrusted with designing blueprints for establishing the Mega IT Hub and the other IT hubs at carefully selected locations with plans for marketing the ‘Advantage AP’ brand among top players in IT and Electronics manufacturing sector globally.
