Festive Spirit and Cultural Fervour Illuminate Sankraanti Celebrations in Sri City

The vibrant spirit of Sankraanti came alive in Sri City as the community gathered for ‘Sankraanti Sambaraalu’ at Sri Prasanna Venkateswara Swamy mandir on Saturday. The festive occasion, marked by special rituals in conjunction with Dhanurmasam, saw a significant turnout of devotees who sought the divine blessings of the Lord.
Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director, Sri City, performed the pooja. He expressed happiness at the enthusiastic participation of the community in the celebrations and greeted warmly, urging them to make regular visits to the temple. Among the distinguished persons who graced the occasion were Mr. Atul Singh, IPS, ADGP, Mrs. Priya Singh, and Mr. Sudhakar Reddy, Director, Sri City.
As part of Sri City’s commitment to preserving and promoting traditional folk arts, Srivani, Sri City’s Spiritual and Literary Forum, organised rangoli competitions. Women showcased their artistic talents through vibrant rangoli (muggulu), an ancient traditional art form that holds special significance. Adding colour to the event, groups of girls and women from Arur mesmerised the audience with the traditional rural folk dance form, ‘Kolatam,’ symbolising the festive spirit of Sankraanti. The performers, adorned in vibrant traditional attire, brought visual splendour to the event with their rhythmic movements and intricate formations. The winners of rangoli competitions received cash prizes from Mrs. Priya Singh. Three women placed first, second, and third in the competition: Ms. Keerthana, Ms. Nisha, and Ms. Poornima.
The celebrations witnessed active participation not only from Sri City employees but also from residents of Aruru, Aruru Kandriga, Mallavaripalem West, and other surrounding places, including Sullurupeta and Tada. All attendees received teertha prasadam and anna prasadam, enhancing the overall joy and satisfaction of having participated in an enthralling celebration and witnessing the divine festivities.
