Prashant Kishor to Contest from Bankipur Constituency
Prashant Kishor (PK), widely known as a political strategist, is entering the fray in the upcoming assembly by-elections. He will contest as an MLA candidate on behalf of the Jan Suraaj Party. This was officially announced by Manoj Bharti, the president of the Jan Suraaj Party. For many years, PK served as a strategist and advisor to various political parties. Now, he is personally stepping into the electoral battlefield.
For a long time, Prashant Kishor worked as a strategist for numerous parties and helped bring several governments to power. He later distanced himself from I-PAC and went on to establish his own political party.
The Bankipur assembly constituency in Bihar was previously held by BJP National President Nitin Nabin. However, after taking over as the BJP National President, he resigned from his MLA position, necessitating the by-election. Speaking about this a few days ago, PK stated, “If my contesting gives us a chance to defeat the BJP in its stronghold of Bankipur, I am ready to contest the election.”
In the 2025 Bihar Assembly elections, the Jan Suraaj Party fielded candidates in 238 out of 243 seats, but Prashant Kishor himself did not contest. He had announced that he stayed away from contesting in order to campaign across the state. However, the party failed to win even a single seat in those elections.
