Tamil Nadu Student Innovators Harness AI and Wearable Tech for Social Impact

Three dynamic student teams from Tamil Nadu 4 Percentage, JARVISS, and Rogue have secured their spots in the Top 20 national cohort of the fifth edition of Samsung Solve for Tomorrow 2026. Hailing from Chennai and Coimbatore, these nine young innovators have developed practical, technology-driven solutions utilizing artificial intelligence, Internet of Things (IoT) sensors, and wearable devices to target everyday hurdles in workplace education, road safety, and healthcare.

Innovative Projects Addressing Ground-Level Challenges:
The selected teams have focused on distinct, high-impact societal issues:

MicroLearning AI (Team 4 Percentage): Developed by Sajith J, Mithran B, and Kavin Nanadha M K from Coimbatore, this platform condenses complex training manuals into brief, two-to-three-minute video modules delivered via WhatsApp in regional languages, allowing factory and frontline workers to learn seamlessly without stopping work.

SafePath AI (Team JARVISS): Created by Chennai-based innovators Sanjay Kumaar, G B Aswindbaghat, and Varunprasath K, this system leverages smartphone and IoT data to map road hazards like potholes and waterlogged areas, actively recommending safer alternative commuter routes while alerting local authorities.

NeuroStride (Team Rogue): Engineered by Chennai team members Manoj Kumar Kasinathan, Jena R, and Chriswin William D, this non-invasive, AI-powered wearable targets Parkinson’s disease management by distinguishing involuntary tremors from conscious muscle movements to deliver stabilizing electrical stimulation.

Mentorship and National Incubation Support:
As part of the Top 20 finalist milestone, each team will receive INR 1 lakh for prototype refinement alongside Samsung Galaxy Z Flip smartphones. The students are undergoing intensive mentorship and prototyping bootcamps facilitated by Samsung experts and the Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FITT) at IIT Delhi. Ultimately, four national winners will be awarded a collective pool of INR 2 crore in incubation grants to scale their prototypes into market-ready ventures.
