Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles and Indian Army Conclude Shaurya Vijay Yatra at Dras on Kargil Vijay Diwas

Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles, in partnership with the Indian Army, successfully concluded the Shaurya Vijay Yatra at the Kargil War Memorial in Dras on Kargil Vijay Diwas. Spanning 1,900 kilometres, the expedition commenced at the National War Memorial in New Delhi, bringing together serving and retired defense personnel, Veer Naris, families of martyrs, and civilian riders to honor the supreme sacrifice of the 1999 Kargil War heroes.

A central ceremonial highlight of the yatra was the transport of sacred soil from the National War Memorial to the Kargil War Memorial, symbolizing an enduring connection across generations of Indian soldiers. Traversing the challenging terrains of Himachal Pradesh and Ladakh, the convoy paid respects at key military landmarks, including Chandimandir, Rezang La, and the Leh War Memorial, before reaching Dras.

A Growing Civil-Military Movement:
Initiated in 2021 by Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles, the annual ride aims to extend the narratives of military valor beyond institutional circles and into public consciousness. Flagged off this year by Defence Minister Shri Rajnath Singh alongside senior military officials and veterans, the initiative has evolved into a prominent platform for fostering public remembrance and patriotism.

The expedition was executed using a fleet of robust Jawa and Yezdi motorcycles featuring the Jawa 350, Jawa 42, Jawa 42 FJ, Yezdi Adventure, and Yezdi Scrambler. Navigating high-altitude mountain passes and rugged routes, the machines demonstrated resilience befitting the demanding nature of the tribute.

Highlighting the significance of the endeavor, Anupam Thareja, Co-founder of Classic Legends, stated that the Shaurya Vijay Yatra serves as a dedicated tribute to ensure the stories of India’s bravehearts continue to inspire future generations.
