Union Minister Jitendra Singh clarified that the Anti-Paper Leak Bill is being introduced to curb paper leaks. The bill was discussed in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday. Speaking on the occasion, Jitendra Singh described this law as a milestone in the nation’s history and explained that PM Modi is working tirelessly for the future of students.

He noted that paper leaks have been occurring across the country and reminded the House that the RRB paper was leaked even during the Congress regime. He slammed Congress, stating that exam papers were leaked numerous times under their rule. However, he stated that Congress opposed reforms in conducting examinations, expressing deep frustration that Congress ignored the request to set up the NTA in 2010.

BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj also launched a fierce attack on the opposition’s attitude, defending the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill. Using Gen Z slang in the Lok Sabha, she said, “If I were to say this in Gen Z language, I would say, ‘Modiji cooked it.'” Swaraj stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi recognized question paper leaks as a “grave sin,” and the objective of this amendment is to safeguard the future of students. She added that investigation into paper leak cases must be completed within two months, and special public prosecutors will be appointed to handle such cases. She also informed that those convicted would face seven to 10 years of imprisonment along with a fine of up to ₹5 crore.

“The NDA is in the process of completely transforming every sector of education in India,” said MP Tejasvi Surya. He criticized the UPA government for not taking paper leaks and education-related crimes seriously enough. “If Congress truly cared about the welfare of the youth, they would have passed such an anti-paper leak bill during their own tenure,” he said. He further remarked that the current issues in the education system were inherited by the NDA from the UPA government, and the present government is actively resolving those systemic problems.
