Despite Challenges, 7.8% Growth Rate: PM Conveys Wishes
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed delight over India’s GDP growing by 7.8% in the April–June quarter of this fiscal year. On this occasion, PM Modi extended his greetings to the citizens of the country, remarking that the growth rate achieved by India is a testament to the collective strength of the nation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently on a visit to Kyrgyzstan, from where he released a video message addressing the achievement. He stated that despite challenging global conditions caused by wars and supply chain disruptions, India achieved an impressive growth rate.
He noted that the 7.8% growth rate has brought widespread joy across the nation, praising the determination and capabilities of the country’s people. He emphasized that even amidst difficult global circumstances, India continues to forge ahead on the path of growth.
The Prime Minister also highlighted the need to sustain India’s progress, reiterating the importance of achieving self-reliance (Aatmanirbharata). He urged citizens to prioritize indigenous products and avoid unnecessary foreign travel and gold purchases. To conserve foreign exchange reserves, he suggested hosting weddings and other celebratory events within India. He expressed confidence that if self-reliance remains the top priority, India will emerge as a developed nation by the 100th year of its independence.
