Telugu Association of Scotland Celebrates Ugadi 2026 in Edinburgh
The Telugu Association of Scotland (TAS) organized the Sri Parabhava Nama Samvatsara Ugadi celebrations on 28 March 2026 at ESMS – Mars Hall, Edinburgh. The event was celebrated with grandeur and cultural splendour, with hundreds of Telugu families from across Scotland participating enthusiastically.
The programme commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by the rendition of both Telugu state anthems, setting a respectful and patriotic tone for the celebrations. This was followed by locally organised cultural performances, which were well received by the audience and added vibrant colour to the festivities.
The event was graced by the presence of Shri Azad Singh, Honorable Consul General of India in the United Kingdom, as the Chief Guest. His participation added prestige to the occasion and reinforced the spirit of cultural unity among the Indian diaspora.
A major highlight of the celebrations was a live musical concert led by renowned music director Shri Koti. The event featured spellbinding performances by playback singers Shri Sai Charan, Shri Shrikant Sandugu, Smt. Shivani Balasubrahmanyam, and Kumari Shruthika
Samudrala. The audience was enthralled by a series of super hit songs composed by Shri Koti, who also shared memorable moments from his musical journey, deeply resonating with attendees. The programme was skillfully anchored by Smt. Sahitya Vinjamuri.

Another key moment of the event was the announcement of the newly elected executive committee for the 2026–2028 term. During this occasion, mementoes were presented in appreciation of the exceptional 15+ years of service rendered by the outgoing Chairperson, Shri Siva Chimpiri, and to Shri Pandari Jain Kumar Polisetti, the Cultural Secretary stepping away from committee responsibilities.
