ATA Curtain raiser Ignites Community Spirit for 19th National Conference
Herndon, VA: Despite harsh winter conditions in Herndon, Virginia, the American Telugu Association (ATA) successfully hosted its Curtain Raiser event on February 7, 2026. Held at the Hilton Washington Dulles Airport, the gathering drew approximately 700 attendees who braved sub-freezing temperatures to support the upcoming 19th ATA Conference. The event served as a major stepping stone for the national convention, which is slated to take place in Baltimore from July 31 to August 2, 2026.
The evening featured a blend of social networking, cultural performances, and strategic planning. ATA President Jayanth Challa emphasized the organization’s 35-year legacy of promoting Telugu heritage through education and entrepreneurship. He issued a call to action for the community, set a target of 500 volunteers, and promised full financial transparency for all donations received.
