AIA celebrates “Holi Fest” in a grand way in California
Association of Indo American’s (AIA), &Bolly 92.3presented “Holi Fest” (Festival of Colors)at very picturesque San Jose Downtown (Discovery Meadow)CA. It was a unique festival, first of its kind and is supported by over 50 Indian organizations in Bay Area. Holi Fest was refreshingly endearing, visually stunning, and entertaining with lots of fun, mazaa & masti all around.
The event started at 11AM and went all the way till 6PM. It was attended by over 15,000 floating attendees throughout the day-long event. Sanjiv Gupta CPA was the Grand sponsor, Platinum Sponsor Realtor Lavanya Duvvi, Travel partner Travelopod, Powered by realtor Nagaraj Anniah, Mantra India & Chaat Bhavan (Food Sponsors). The attendees at this gathering celebrated Holi by playfully throwing colored powders at each other in a spirit of joy. Holi represents the eternal and divine love between the deities Radha and Krishna, and it also signifies the victory of good over evil. Holi also marks the arrival of spring, the end of winter, and it serves as a prayer for a bountiful spring harvest season.
The event was graced by notable dignitaries including Congressman Sam Liccardo, Assembly member Ash Kalra, Fremont Mayor Raj Salwan, Tom Pyke from Congressman Khanna’s office, Santa Clara County Supervisor Betty Duong, San Jose Downtown Association CEO Brian Kurtz, Sunnyvale City Council member Murali Srinivasan, Fremont City Council member Yang Shao, San Jose City Council members Domingo Candela, Bien Doan, David Cohen have joined.
The dignitaries addressed the gathering and conveyed their “Holi” wishes. They applauded AIA efforts in preserving Indian culture. They mentioned they are happy to see the festivities and wondered if they were in India & congratulated the AIA team for making it a memorable event.
Many of the Dignitaries shared pictures and inspiring messages on social media about their participation in the Holi event.
Over 50 community organizations representing all parts of India worked tirelessly to support AIA in making this event a grand success. AIA team also thanked all the sponsors for their continued support and the volunteers for their hard work and making the event a grand success.
The Association of Indo Americans (AIA) is a non-profit organization providing a forum to explore the rich and diverse heritage of the Indian American community living in the United States. The mission of AIA is to foster and promote cultural and social interactions among its members, facilitate cultural events and educational programs pertaining to the Indian subcontinent.
