On June 22, 2025, the Association of Indo Americans (AIA), in collaboration with the Consulate General of India (San Francisco) and the India Community Center (ICC), celebrated the 11th International Day of Yoga with the global theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”

The event drew over 250 enthusiastic participants, making it a grand celebration!

The gathering commenced with inspiring remarks from dignitaries including Mr. Abhishek Sharma (Consul, Consulate General of India), Milpitas Mayor Ms. Carmen Montano, Santa Clara County Supervisor Mr. Otto Lee, Santa Clara Councilmember Mr. Raj Chahal, Sunnyvale Councilmember Mr. Murali Srinivasan, Mr. Manoj Goel (ICC), and Sister Kusum (Brahma Kumaris).

In his keynote, Mr. Abhishek Sharma delivered an insightful talk highlighting the scientific relevance and holistic benefits of regular Yoga practice—emphasizing its positive impact on stress reduction, mental clarity, and physical health. All speakers echoed the significance of Yoga in daily life and emphasized its adaptability to individual needs and lifestyles.

The program began with a session on “Meditation and Self-Transformation” led by Sister Kusum, focusing on inner peace, mental clarity, and personal well-being. This was followed by an engaging session led by Yoga expert Mr. Manoj Sharma, who shared the importance of Yogic practices for both individual and community health. He guided participants through the Common Yoga Protocol, including a series of asanas and breathing techniques such as Yogasanas, Kapalbhati, Pranayama, Dhyana, Sankalpa, and Meditation.

Continuing the session, Dr. Ambili Sudhakaran conducted a session on Deep Relaxation Techniques, offering participants hands-on practice and emphasizing high-quality, accessible Yoga training for all.

The entire event was thoughtfully organized by the Association of Indo Americans (AIA) with strong support from the community and co-hosting organizations. The celebration reflected the growing global appreciation of Yoga and its power to unite people in health and harmony.

Attached are some photos from the International Yoga Day celebration. They capture the energy, enthusiasm, and unity of the event—thank you to everyone who made it a success!
