Whoophing Pirce for Jailer2 digital rights
Superstar Rajinikanth’s Jailer 2 is reportedly making waves in the digital market well ahead of its theatrical release. According to industry buzz, Amazon Prime Video has acquired the film’s post theatrical streaming rights for around Rs 160 crore. While there has been no official confirmation yet, the deal is being discussed as one of the biggest digital acquisitions for a South Indian film.
The sequel has generated strong pre release interest following the massive success of Jailer, which performed exceptionally well both at the box office and on streaming platforms. Trade analysts believe the franchise’s popularity has significantly boosted the value of Jailer 2.
Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Sun Pictures, Jailer 2 is scheduled for a theatrical release on October 15, 2026. Rajinikanth reprises his role as Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, with S.J. Suryah, Ramya Krishnan, and Yogi Babu in key roles. The film’s music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander. If the reported deal is accurate, it would further underline Rajinikanth’s enduring box office and digital market strength.
