“JOCKEY” Motion Poster Released

After creating waves with Muddy, India’s first mud-racing film, director Dr. Pragabhal returns with yet another daring cinematic experiment – JOCKEY. The motion poster, released today, introduces audiences to a never-before-seen backdrop in Indian cinema – the traditional Madurai Goat Fight.
The first look establishes the grand scale and intensity of the film, featuring a gripping faceoff between the lead actors with goats at the center of the theme. Unlike a typical action drama, JOCKEY is designed to capture the deep emotional bond between goats and their handlers, a reflection of Tamil Nadu’s rich heritage and cultural traditions.
Speaking about the film, Director Dr. Pragabhal said:
“When I first witnessed goat fights in Madurai, I realized they were not just contests of strength but cultural expressions tied to the emotions of people and their animals. This inspired me to research, live in Madurai for years, and write this story rooted in authenticity. Our actors trained extensively with goats and handlers, taking risks and forming genuine bonds. My aim is to showcase this culture truthfully and bring an unseen subject to Indian cinema.”
The film stars Yuvan Krishna and Ridhan Krishnas in lead roles, with Ammu Abhirami and Madhu Sudhan Rao playing key characters. For added realism, the cast underwent months of training, working closely with goat handlers, ensuring the performances captured raw intensity.
