Prominent personalities from the Telugu film industry, led by Tollywood Film Development Corporation (TFDC) Chairman Dil Raju, met Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and a few other cabinet ministers earlier today to discuss the development and growth of the industry at national and international levels.
Dil Raju revealed that CM Revanth Reddy provided valuable guidance and inputs to enhance the film industry’s growth. Addressing the rumours surrounding the meeting, Dil Raju said, “There is no truth to the negative news being spread about this meeting. Events that never took place are being misrepresented as if they happened. There is not even 0.5% negativity from the government towards the film industry. In fact, the government is highly supportive.”
Calling it a productive meeting, Dil Raju stated, “CM garu shared his vision for the film industry’s future. He aims to make Hyderabad a hub not just for Indian cinema but for Hollywood productions as well. Everyone who attended the meeting thanked him for his guidance. We will work on his inputs and present a detailed proposal in the next meeting.”
Dil Raju clarified the discussions were focused on the industry’s overall growth and not on minor issues like ticket pricing and benefit shows. “The agenda of the meeting was to explore how Telugu cinema can grow on a national and international scale. CM garu urged us to develop Hyderabad as a global hub for cinema, similar to its current status as a hub for pharma and IT sectors,” he explained.
Dil Raju also noted the government’s appeal for industry celebrities to promote awareness about key issues and support government schemes. He also revealed that the government asked FDC to be a catalyst to hold the “Gaddar Film Awards” every year.
Regarding the Sandhya Theatre stampede incident, Dil Raju said, “The police have not shown us any footage related to the incident. However, the DGP garu ordered us to be accountable for the behaviour of our bouncers.”
A committee comprising film industry representatives and government officials will be formed to facilitate collaboration. Dil Raju asserted, that as the TFDC Chairman, he will act as the bridge between the industry and the government to ensure seamless coordination.
