Tandanana – Annamacharya International Music Competition 2025

We are delighted to announce the inauguration of the “Tandanana – Annamacharya International Music Competition 2025”, which will commence on 11th May 2025; on 617 Annamayya Jayanti, at the revered Annamacharya Bhavana Vahini (ABV). This prestigious event is a global celebration of the timeless Sankeertanas of Saint Annamacharya, who sang for the eradication of social evils and the unity of humanity, transcending barriers of caste, creed, and class. His compositions — rich in devotion and deep philosophical meaning — continue to inspire spiritual seekers and music lovers alike.
The title “Tandanana” is drawn from the soul-stirring refrain often found in Annamayya’s works. It embodies the spirit of universal harmony and brotherhood, resonating with his message that all are equal in the eyes of the Divine.
This international music competition is organized by Annamacharya Bhavana Vahini (ABV), founded in 1983 by Padma Shri Dr. Shobha Raju, who has dedicated her life to preserving and promoting Annamacharya’s legacy. Her journey began even earlier, as she served the same cause at Tirupati from 1976 to 1982, laying the foundation for a movement rooted in devotion and social reform through music.
The competition will culminate in a grand finale on 8th October 2025, where selected participants from across the globe will come together to celebrate Annamacharya’s legacy in a spirit of unity, devotion, and musical excellence.
