Hyderabad March 30, 2026 : In a significant boost to community welfare, G. Kishan Reddy, the Honorable Union Minister of Coal and Mines, officially inaugurated the Nand Ghar initiative in Hyderabad, Telangana. This launch introduces 36 modern centers across the district, marking a major expansion of Vedanta’s flagship social impact program designed to modernize India’s traditional Anganwadi system.

This expansion strengthens Vedanta’s growing footprint in Southern India, building on existing successful operations in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh. The move underscores a commitment to scalable social development that addresses the specific needs of the Telangana region.
Ministerial Visit and Community Impact:
During a visit to the Bhaghavanthapuram center in Sanathnagar, Minister G. Kishan Reddy personally reviewed the facility’s service delivery. Sharing his experience on X (formerly Twitter), the Minister emphasized the importance of robust grassroots support for maternal health and child development.
The Minister engaged with staff, mothers, and children, distributing essential stationery kits, school bags, and nutrient-dense millet bars. These efforts are expected to directly benefit nearly 3,000 women and children in the Hyderabad district, ensuring they have the tools necessary for a healthier, more educated future.

Shashi Arora, CEO of Nand Ghar, highlighted that the initiative is driven by a vision to transform rural landscapes through sustainable development models. “Our goal is to create an environment where every child gets a fair start and every woman has the chance to thrive,” Arora stated during the event.
