Sri City Hosts Awareness Programme on Standardisation
Sri City & FSME Ink MoU to Strengthen Industrial Ecosystem and Skill Development
Sri City, in collaboration with the Federation of Small & Medium Enterprises India (FSME India) and the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), organised a Sensitisation Programme on Standardisation to encourage industries to adopt national quality norms.
Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Managing Director of Sri City, appreciated the BIS’s proactiveness, noting that such initiatives strengthen industry compliance, foster collaboration, and advance India’s quality movement.
The programme, led by Mr. A. Sai Koushik, Joint Director, BIS (AP Division), highlighted the importance of standards in trade, consumer protection, and global competitiveness. Participants—MSMEs, professionals, and researchers—were briefed on technical standards, Quality Control Orders (QCOs), ISI and Hallmarking requirements, and the BIS Care App for certification verification.
Aligned with the Indian National Strategy for Standardisation (INSS), the initiative highlighted standards as engines of growth, sustainability, and MSME empowerment. FSME India reaffirmed its commitment to helping MSMEs meet national norms through awareness, guidance, and certification support. The session drew participation from Sri City industrial representatives and members of the Tirupati Chamber of Commerce.
Sri City & FSME signed Collaborative MoU for Industrial Growth
Following the BIS session, Sri City and FSME formalised a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), signed by Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy and Mr. A.P.K. Reddy, National President of FSME‑India. The MoU seeks to drive industrial growth, skill development, and SME participation in southern India. Key initiatives include youth training, vendor development to integrate SMEs into Sri City’s ecosystem, technology transfer through academic partnerships, and promotion via exhibitions and trade fairs. It also covers manpower support, job melas, and linkages with FSME’s upcoming SME Industrial Park near Srikalahasthi.
Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy said the partnership, aligned with Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri N. Chandrababu Naidu’s vision, will empower youth, strengthen SMEs, and enhance competitiveness. He praised FSME’s role in guiding MSMEs through compliance and innovation, noting the collaboration fosters inclusive growth for farmers, entrepreneurs, and graduates. Mr. A.P.K. Reddy added that integrating SMEs into Sri City’s framework will generate jobs, spur innovation, and position Andhra Pradesh as a model for industrial development.
