“Technical Glitch, No Malicious Intent”: Meta Issues Apology

Social media giant Meta has apologized for removing a selfie video posted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding CJP and student protests. Meta stated that the video was temporarily unavailable on its platform due to a technical issue and clarified that there was no intentional action behind it.

“An error occurred regarding Prime Minister Modi’s video. As soon as the issue was identified, it was restored. We regret this,” a Meta spokesperson said. For a short time after the Prime Minister’s video disappeared, a message reading “Restricted due to a legal request” was displayed. However, Meta clarified that this was also caused by a technical glitch. The company confirmed that the video has now been fully restored and users can watch it as usual.

It is well known that CJP had been protesting, demanding the resignation of Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over the NEET paper leak issue. Against this backdrop, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a video on Thursday midnight, explaining the government’s stance on the NEET question paper leak. The sudden disappearance of that video became a hot topic on social media. It is reported that the Central Government expressed strong indignation over the video’s removal, and the Ministry of Information Technology issued summons to Meta.
