PM Modi Releases Midnight Video Message: “Bringing a Bill to Check Paper Leaks”
Amid ongoing protests across the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi released a video message late Thursday night. He announced that a decision regarding a bill aimed at curbing paper leaks will be taken during the Union Cabinet meeting on Friday. He also assured in the video that the bill would be introduced and passed in Parliament very soon. Against the backdrop of student agitations, this is the second time within 12 hours that he has released a video on this issue.
“Friends… a paper leak is no ordinary matter. I am well aware of this. The accused have already been arrested and sent to jail. Our topmost priority is to ensure that students do not lose an academic year. That is why re-examinations were conducted immediately. But we did not stop there. We understand that this is a serious issue for both parents and children. We have taken several measures over the past two and a half months, and now we will take even further steps. That is why fast-track courts are being established,” declared PM Modi.
