Omar Abdullah vs BJP in Jammu and Kashmir
The politics in Jammu and Kashmir have suddenly taken a sharp turn. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah made a sensational statement alleging that the BJP is trying to buy his party MLAs and destabilize his government. He made sensational allegations that they are trying to destabilize his government under the name of “Operation Lotus.”
“A key leader of the BJP, who is also a Supreme Court lawyer, secretly met our party MLA. They lured him with offers of Rs 20 crore to Rs 30 crore in cash, a ministerial post if he switched parties, and promised to grant full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir. But they could not buy the loyalty and commitment of our MLAs. Even if offered Rs 100 crore, National Conference leaders cannot be bought. The BJP is viewing us as weak and looking to come to power through the back door,” he criticized sharply.
Furious BJP… Rs 100 Crore Defamation Suit
The BJP hit back, stating that Jammu and Kashmir CM Omar is leveling baseless allegations against them. The BJP also sent a legal notice to CM Omar, warning that they would file a Rs 100 crore defamation suit. The BJP condemned Omar Abdullah’s allegations. The party’s national spokesperson, Sudhanshu Trivedi, stated that the remarks made by Omar Abdullah are completely baseless. He demanded that evidence be shown immediately for the allegations made against them, or else a public apology must be issued. Following this, an official legal notice was sent to Omar Abdullah on behalf of the BJP. The notice stated that if the allegations are not proven or if a public apology is not made, a Rs 100 crore defamation suit will be filed.
