Goal is Atmanirbhar Bharat and Administrative Reforms: PM Modi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted a high-level meeting with the secretaries of all ministries. The meeting primarily focused on three major aspects: speeding up reforms, Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India), and administrative reforms. Additionally, coordination between different ministries was also discussed.
A detailed discussion took place on advancing the goal of Atmanirbhar Bharat through further improving the Ease of Doing Business, policy measures, and institutional reforms. PM Modi also directed officials to pay special attention to schemes that directly impact the lives of citizens. The discussion majorly centered around deregulation and other necessary reforms.
He suggested bringing about reforms along with the relaxation of regulations to pave the way for Ease of Doing Business and Ease of Living for the people in the country. The secretaries gave PowerPoint presentations to PM Modi on the progress of their respective departments. Furthermore, the challenges faced by various sectors and their potential solutions were also discussed. However, PM Modi emphasized the need for inter-departmental coordination, stating that ministries should not operate in silos as if they are completely separate entities. He suggested making effective use of “PM GatiShakti” to enhance coordination between departments and to keep each other informed about decisions.
On the other hand, reforms to be undertaken to transform India into a developed nation by 2047 were also discussed, and a comprehensive plan was outlined for this purpose. He emphasized that bringing convenience to people’s lives and ensuring Ease of Living should always be their ultimate goal. Additionally, he advised all departments to integrate modern technology into their functioning.
