Need To Respect Money Earned From North: Vishnu Manchu

Vishnu Manchu is awaiting the release of his most ambitious project Kannappa set for release on June 27th. The film’s release date poster was launched by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

The film features an ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar, Prabhas, and Mohanlal. Commenting on the collaborative spirit among actors across regions, Vishnu said, “People don’t see artistes as ‘South actor’ or ‘North actor’ anymore. Audiences are beginning to embrace them as their own.”

Speaking about the growing pan-India appeal of regional cinema, Vishnu stated, “You need to respect the money earned from the North, especially the Hindi heartland. They are showering love on our movies; we must acknowledge that.”

The filmmaker also touched upon the success of South Indian cinema nationwide, attributing it to emotionally resonant, rooted storytelling.

However, he cautioned against comparing Southern industries with Bollywood. “It’s not fair to lump all four industries together and pit them against Hindi cinema,” he said.

Looking ahead, Vishnu teased a new pan-India film set during the Independence era, for which discussions are underway with a major Bollywood actor.
