What is your background, and how did your cinematic journey begin?
– I’m from Tirupati, born and raised there, but Hyderabad is where my connection with the film industry began. This place is very special to me. I’ve been passionate about films since childhood, which led me to focus on writing. I gained knowledge of various crafts and made several short films. My short film Badi Pantulu won a state-level award. My mother dreamed of seeing my name on the big screen and me making films. That dream has now come true, but it pains me that she’s no longer here to see it. After entering the industry, I worked in various departments, assisted on numerous films, learned acting, and taught acting to many. I’m skilled at scriptwriting and have also started directing a film.
How did the journey of Mutton Soup begin?
I had started a horror film as a director when I met Ramachandra during its shooting. His hardworking nature really impressed me.
What suggestions or contributions did you make to Mutton Soup?
– I initially joined Mutton Soup as a co-director. Inspired by Ramachandra’s passion, I stepped in as a producer.
Since the film is based on real-life events, what challenges did you face?
– As the story is based on real events, everyone already knew the core plot. However, we told it in a fresh way, captivating audiences with the screenplay. While the story was one thing on paper, we transformed the entire film at the editing table after shooting. I’m proud to say our film was shaped not on paper but at the editing table.
Tell us about the artists in Mutton Soup?
– Our hero, Raman, supported us immensely. Varsha Vishwanath never caused any trouble. Gemini Suresh’s support is unforgettable. Govind Srinivas, Shivaraj, SRK, Charan, Kiran, Gopal Maharshi, Sunita Manohar, Master Vihar, and Kiran Medasani—all of them cooperated wonderfully.
What about the technical team of Mutton Soup?
– The technical team was a strong pillar for Mutton Soup. Venky Veena’s songs and background score were a major strength. Bharadwaj and Phanindra earned praise for their visuals. The entire team’s collective effort has brought great appreciation, and we’re thrilled. Thanks to the audience for their warm support.
What kind of response is Mutton Soup receiving?
– Mutton Soup is getting a great response. As we expected, audiences are amazed by the screenplay. They’re praising how we brilliantly edited a crime story. Seeing the audience’s reactions makes us forget all the hardships we endured over the years.
What are your future projects?
– I’ve already started a horror film as a director. As a producer, I plan to make more films with newcomers. I’m also planning another project with Ramachandra. We’ll announce details about these soon
