Citizens Specialty Hospital in Nallagandala Marks World Heart Day with Community Walkathon

Citizens Specialty Hospital, Nallagandala, observed World Heart Day by organizing a 3.5-kilometer community walkathon on September 26 in Hyderabad as part of its ‘Don’t Miss a Beat, Be an Informed Citizen’ campaign. The event successfully united over 400 participants, featuring doctors, hospital staff, patients, families, senior citizens, and residents from neighboring communities. The walkathon route extended from Citizens Specialty Hospital Nallagandala to Diamond Heights Circle and back.

Leadership and Cardiology Expertise:
The procession was led by Dr. Palacharla Prabhakar, Vice President and Regional Chief Operating Officer (RCOO) – South, Citizens Specialty Hospital and American Oncology Institute. Prominent members of the hospital’s cardiology team also spearheaded the event, including Dr. Rama Krishna (Senior Consultant – Cardiology), Dr. Sandeep Khambampati (Senior Consultant – Cardiology), and Dr. Giridhar (Senior Consultant – Cardiothoracic, Lung & Heart Transplant Surgery).

Centered around the theme of informed health, the campaign underscored the critical importance of preventive healthcare, early detection of cardiovascular risks, regular medical check-ups, and active lifestyles. The initiative strongly encouraged local residents to take proactive, consistent measures toward maintaining long-term heart health and cardiovascular well-being.
