Telugu Times launched it’s Bay area focused Sub Portal.

In a function in California on Friday, 7 August 2026, Mr Raj Salwan, Mayor of Fremont city and Ms Carmen Montana, Mayor of Milpitas city together launched bayarea.telugutimes.net, the sub portal of 23-year-old, popular Telugu Times, the First Global Telugu Newspaper published from San Jose, CA

Speaking on this occasion, Mr Venkata Subba Row Chennuri, Editor and CEO of Telugu Times said that Telugu Times was born in San Jose, the heart of Bay area in 2003 and has grown into a media house in 23 years, and has seen the Telugu community growing in USA particularly in Bay area California. He said that Telugu Times has been evolving with more wings from time to time like starting Paatasala in 2013 on its 10th anniversary and today Paatasala, the Telugu teaching facility is doing extremely well.

Similarly Telugu Times started ePaper and Online Services and today, due to aggressive content development and digital marketing efforts, Telugu Times established phenomenal growth with a reach of 1 lakh viewers per day. Telugu Times also started the Business Excellence Awards in 2023, on the eve of its 20th anniversary, as it felt the need for creating a platform for growing Telugu entrepreneur community and Telugu Times giving Awards came a success.

Mr Subba Row explained that now Telugu Times felt the need to develop an area focussed and community interactive sub portal to meet the current demand and requirements of the community and hence proposed starting a sub-portal for Bay Area comprising 15 popular cities like Fremont. San Jose, Sunnyvale, Milpitas, Dublin, San Ramon etc.

Mr Raj Salvan, the first Indo-American Mayor of Fremont City congratulated Telugu Times and said that nowadays people read more local news and it is appropriate for a leading media house like Telugu Times with 23 years of service connectivity with the community and the area to start with a Bay Area focussed portal and advised to give not only news about Telugu people but also news about the cities so that people understand their cities He presented an Appreciation certificate from the Mayor’s office to Telugu Times.
Miss Carmen Montano also congratulated Telugu Times for starting the Bay area focussed Sub Portal and recalled her attachment with Telugu Times in the last 5 years.

Later Mr Subba Row explained the various aspects of the Telugu Times Sub portal launched for the Bay Area and indicated that it is not another news portal but a designed a Platform for interaction and engagement of the community and it’s success depends on how best the community utilises the platform.

He has explained that being a media house it took the liberties identifying some personalities from Bay area as Bay area Pillars and Bay Area Foundation Pillars and will continue to do this exercise for some more time. He also said that the site also has a Directory with 15 business categories and business houses are listed area-wise and category-wise, and this exercise will be a continuous activity.

Speaking on this occasion, TANA leadership from the Bay Area, consisting of Mr Bhakta Balla, Trustee, Mr Venkat Koganti, Director, Mr Venkat Adusumalli, Education Coordinator; and Mr Sudhir Unnam, Regional Representative congratulated Telugu times for starting the Bay Area portal. Speaking on behalf of BATA leadership Mr Prasad Mangina, Past President & Advisor, Mrs Srilu Veligeti, Past President congratulated Telugu Times and recalled BATA’s association with Telugu Times. Mr Anand Kuchibhotla, Founder Chairman, Mr Dilip Kondiparthi, Founder Vice Chairman, Silicon Andhra congratulated Telugu Times for developing one more service activity.
Mrs Naga Sravya Chennuri welcomed everyone in the beginning as a Host and Mr Shiva Duvvuru, CPA ,and Director Telugu Times gave a formal vote of thanks.
