On the first day of the Official Visit to Japan, the TelanganaRising delegation, led by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Telangana, Shri A Revanth Reddy, met with senior leadership of Marubeni Corporation, a leading Japanese industrial conglomerate with interests in energy, transport, real estate, industrial infra, metals, medical services, trading etc., in Tokyo.
Following discussions, Marubeni Corp conveyed their interest to establish a state-of-the-art next generation industrial park in the Future City and both sides signed and exchanged a Letter of Intent (LoI). Marubeni submitted a proposal in this regard, as per which a letter of intent was signed and exchanged with the State Government of Telangana.
With a proposed initial investment of INR 1,000 crore, a world-class, next-generation industrial park will be developed in 600 acres in a phase-wise manner in the Future City.
The industrial park will be dedicated for Japanese companies and other multinational companies to set up their manufacturing plants in Hyderabad and will attract major investments of over Rs 5,000 crore.
The Marubeni Industrial Park will focus on Electronics, Green Pharma, Precision Engineering, Aerospace and Defence sectors, which are largely aligned with Telangana’s objective of attracting foreign investments in advanced manufacturing and create skilled employment opportunities.
Telangana has emerged as a preferred investment destination due to its progressive policies, robust infrastructure, and focus on fostering innovation. The state attracts global leaders, reinforcing its reputation as a leading hub for manufacturing.
Speaking on the occasion and welcoming Marubeni to the Future City being developed in Hyderabad, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Shri Revanth Reddy, said, “The Marubeni industrial park will be among the first of its kind to be developed in the proposed ‘Future City’. It is expected to create 30,000 direct and indirect jobs, enriching livelihoods and enhancing the skill ecosystem in Telangana.”
Promising personal support to ensure Marubeni has a world-class experience in doing business in Telangana, Chief Minister said, “We are delighted to have Marubeni as a marquee investor for the Future City, India’s first city being designed to be a Net Zero city. We welcome Marubeni to Hyderabad, and given the friendship of India and Japan for centuries, I am sure you will find yourself at home when you come to Telangana.”
Welcoming the Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and the delegation to Japan, Mr Dai Sakakura, Executive Officer and COO, Next Generation Business, Marubeni, said, “We are delighted after listening to CM Revanth Reddy’s vision for Telangana and Hyderabad, and wish to be amongst the earliest to explore possibilities there.”
