Hymakar Valluri’s ‘Nature’s Legacy’ Wildlife & Nature Photography Exhibition Inaugurated at State Art Gallery, Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Nature’s Legacy, a landmark wildlife and nature photography exhibition curated by acclaimed wildlife photographer Hymakar Valluri, was inaugurated today at the State Art Gallery, Madhapur, Hyderabad, by Mr. Jayesh Ranjan, IAS, Special Chief Secretary, Municipal Administration & Urban Development (MA&UD) and Special Officer, HMDA Limits, Government of Telangana.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by eminent personalities including Mr. Anil Kumar V. Epur, Trustee, WWF-India and Chairman, WWF-India Hyderabad Office; Dr. Srivari Chandrasekhar, Former Secretary, Department of Science & Technology, Government of India; and Mr. Anoop Singh, IFS, Former Director General, Forest Survey of India and former Chief Wildlife Warden, Andhra Pradesh.
Nature’s Legacy brings to Hyderabad a remarkable collection of wildlife and nature photographs captured over more than two decades of global expeditions by Hymakar Valluri. The exhibition showcases breathtaking imagery from some of the world’s most extraordinary ecosystems, including the African savannahs, the Arctic wilderness, the rainforests of South America and Borneo, and the volcanic landscapes of Kamchatka.
Speaking at the inauguration, the dignitaries lauded the exhibition for its role in fostering environmental awareness and highlighting the urgent need for wildlife conservation. They noted that photography has the unique ability to connect people with nature and inspire collective action towards preserving the planet’s fragile ecosystems.
Each photograph displayed in the exhibition tells a compelling story of wildlife, habitat, and survival. From dramatic predator encounters and rare birdlife to pristine forests and melting Arctic landscapes, the collection serves as both an artistic achievement and a powerful reminder of humanity’s responsibility towards nature.
