US Consul General visits Sri City

Ms. Jennifer Larson, Consul General (Andhra Pradesh, Telangana & Odisha), United States of America visited Sri City on Thursday. Mr. C. Srini Raju, Chairman, Sri City and Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director extended a warm welcome. Mr. Akhil Bery, Vice Consul, Mr. Siba Prasad Tripathy, Economic Affairs Specialist, and Mr.  Suniel Kummar, Commercial Advisor, U.S. Foreign Commercial Service have accompanied the Consul General.

Briefing the guests on the infrastructure, unique features and the brisk pace of development in Sri City, Dr. Ravindra said, “As its growth trajectory presents a significant opportunity for investment, India has been ranked ‘best’ for investment by all global agencies. It remains a consensus favourite investment destination for companies across the world, looking for investment opportunities in diverse sectors.” He mentioned that, as of now, eleven major American brands like PepsiCo, Cadburys, Colgate Palmolive, VRV-Chart Industries, Ball Corporation, Kellogg’s, West Pharma, etc., have preferred Sri City to set up their production units.

Stating that Interaction of this kind will further enhance business ties between the two countries, he added,”I am confident, Consul General’s visit would pave way for some more American businessmen to investment in Sri City.”

She was impressed by the friendly business ambiance and thanked Sri City management for creating such a large, top-notch Integrated Business City.  She was happy to see American companies doing well in Sri City, and said,”Learned about the the world class business centre’s work to grow US-India relationship. No better way to learn how US firms Make in India.”

The intent of her visit was to have the first hand knowledge of the industrial hub and asses its business potential. The Consul General and the accompanying officials evinced keen interest and inquired on different aspects of Sri City, including the incentives being offered by the State and Central governments, Corporate Social Responsibility activities, etc.,

Following the briefing session, the Consul General visited VRV-Chart Industries and inaugurated the newly established Oxygen Cleaning Facility. She planted a tree in commemoration of her visit at the premises of the company. Mr. Kandasamy, Head, HR of the company gave a presentation on the activities of their production unit. She went around the plant and had a close glimpse of the production facilities and witnessed the works in progress. The Consul General had a luncheon meeting with the CEOs/ CXOs of all the American companies in Sri City.
