Sri City Celebrates International Yoga Day with Spirit and Harmony
Sri City joined the global community in marking the 12th International Yoga Day, hosting a vibrant celebration under the theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing.” Against the backdrop of serene morning skies and lush greenery, over 180 participants — executives from Sri City, several industrial units, Office of the SEZ Development Commissioner, Police Department, students of Chinmaya Vidyalaya and Accord school, and general public — gathered to embrace yoga’s timeless message of balance and holistic well‑being.
The session began with a warm welcome and moved into an energising practice led by Yoga Master Mr. A. Kodandam, Secretary of the AP Sports Education Association. Guiding participants through Surya Namaskaras, asanas, and pranayama, he highlighted yoga’s integrative power to align body and mind, underscoring its physical, mental, and emotional benefits.
Alongside the yoga session, Dr. Siva Prasad and his team from Tulasi Ayurvedic Hospital organized a medical camp that offered guidance on natural wellness and healthy living. They also extended free medicines to those in need. Participants were also served a wholesome breakfast, reinforcing the day’s focus on healthy living.
The event was coordinated by Mr. A. Sanyasi Rao, General Manager, who emphasised the relevance of yoga in everyday living. The strong turnout of the community underscores yoga’s enduring values of mindfulness and discipline, which foster conscious living, sustainable habits, and transformative change. This active participation reflects the community’s keen interest in the regular yoga sessions organized in Sri City’s residential zone.
