Sri City Accord School observes World Nature Conservation Day

Observing the World Nature Conservation Day, on Friday evening, as a part of an initiative to make their surroundings clean, green and more sustainable, the students of Accord School in Sri City, took up a cleanup drive.
Addressing the students, Mrs. Brinda, Principal said,”World Nature Conservation Day is observed to raise awareness about the importance of protecting our planet for future generations, and preserving nature’s different elements, including its flora, animals, energy supplies, land, water, and air. It also inspires people to take action towards sustainable living. Let’s celebrate World Nature Conservation Day by aiming to conserve the about to extinct species & environment. Let’s pledge today to protect our tomorrow.”
Students of 9th and 10th classes enthusiastically took part in the cleaning programme. They marched carrying placards and banners and shouting slogans related to conservation of nature and environment. This was followed by a cleanup drive along the Central Expressway. The plastic waste and garbage etc. was collected and disposed off in an environment friendly manner.
Master Roehitha Sreeram drew a poster on the theme ‘Nature Conservation’, which received applause of all. Teachers Mr. Philip, Ms. Razeena, Mr. Ramesh, Ms. Kiranmayee, and a few others coordinated the event.
