Don’t Underestimate Jagan.. PK’s friendly advice to Lokesh

Prashant Kishor, widely known as PK, played a crucial role in shaping YSR Congress Party’s (YCP) strategies in Andhra Pradesh. It was YCP leader Jagan Mohan Reddy who introduced PK to state politics, showcasing him as a key strategist during the 2017 party plenary. Since then, PK became instrumental in YCP’s campaign planning, significantly influencing its strategies.
His most notable contribution was in designing Jagan’s 2017 padayatra, which helped the leader connect with people across the state. From speech topics to criticism of the ruling party, every move was crafted under PK’s guidance. His tactics led YCP to a landslide victory in 2019, securing 151 seats. However, the heavy welfare schemes promised under PK’s strategy resulted in financial strain on the state, pushing development to the backseat.
Following YCP’s defeat in the 2024 elections, PK’s influence on the party declined. Reports suggest that Jagan and PK grew distant after YCP came to power, and though IPAC, led by his associate Rishi, supported the party, their strategies didn’t yield the expected results.
Recently, PK’s meeting with TDP leader Nara Lokesh has sparked political interest. Having closely observed Jagan’s governance style, PK reportedly advised Lokesh not to underestimate Jagan, warning that he would make efforts to regain power. A special report prepared by PK allegedly outlines steps for the coalition government to counter YCP’s strengths while addressing its own governance flaws. Whether PK’s insights will benefit the coalition remains to be seen, but his message is clear—Jagan is not to be taken lightly.
