A four member business delegation from Japan’s Ehime Prefecture, led by Mr. Takahiro Innami, General Manager of BEMAC – a leading electric vehicle manufacturer – visited Sri City on Wednesday. The team comprised representatives from Iyo Bank and Japan NUS (JANUS), specialists in energy, environment, and advanced systems.
Welcoming the delegation, Mr. R. The guests were briefed on Andhra Pradesh’s ‘Speed of Doing Business’ policy, offering swift approvals and sector-specific incentives.
Commenting on the visit, Dr. Ravindra Sannareddy, Founder Managing Director, warmly invited Ehime entrepreneurs to set up a lasting base in Sri City. He underlined that Sri City has emerged as India’s second-largest hub for Japanese investments, hosting over 35 Japanese firms, including Unicharm India Pvt. Ltd. from Ehime Prefecture.
Praising Sri City’s world-class facilities and proactive engagement with Japanese partners, Mr. Innami underscored India’s vast potential for electric auto-rickshaws and expressed BEMAC’s interest in building a decarbonisation ecosystem in India.
The delegation went round the industrial hub and observed the world class infrastructure. The visit, following an earlier mission led by the Ehime Governor, reflects sustained Japanese interest in Sri City as a gateway for SMEs in automobile, building material, FMCG, air conditioners, renewable energy, etc., further strengthening Indo-Japanese economic collaboration.
