Historic Recognition for the American Telugu Association(ATA) on the Floor of the United States

Historic Moment for the Telugu American Community

For the first time in history, the American Telugu Association (ATA) was recognized on the floor of the United States House of Representatives.

Congressman Suhas Subramanyam addressed the House and extended his congratulations and best wishes to the American Telugu Association for its upcoming 19th ATA Convention & Youth Conference, to be held in Baltimore, Maryland, from July 31 to August 2, 2026.

This historic recognition is a proud milestone not only for ATA but also for the Telugu American community across the United States. It reflects the growing contributions of Telugu Americans in public service, education, medicine, business, technology, entrepreneurship, and community leadership, as well as the important role organizations like ATA have played in preserving Telugu language, culture, heritage, and community service for more than three decades.

Founded in 1991, the American Telugu Association has become one of North America’s leading Telugu organizations, serving thousands of families through educational initiatives, youth development, cultural programs, health awareness activities, humanitarian relief, scholarships, and community service.
