With 90 percent occupancy, audiences are supporting “Gurram Paapireddy”
Starring Naresh Agastya and Faria Abdullah as the lead pair, the film “Gurram Paapireddy” is produced by Venu Saddi, Amar Bura and Jayakanth (Bobby), and presented by Dr. Sandhya Goli. Director Murali Manohar has made this film with a dark comedy storyline and a concept that has not been seen on screen before. Recently released in theatres, “Gurram Paapireddy” has emerged as a complete entertainer and is receiving a positive response from audiences, achieving good success. On this occasion, the film’s success meet was held today in Hyderabad.
Producer Venu Saddi said that he considers this more of a thank-you meet than a success meet. He thanked the audiences for supporting “Gurram Paapireddy” and said that he personally liked the film very much. He added that everyone involved in the movie put in great effort, which resulted in the film becoming a hit.
Producer Amar Bura said that Venu, Sandhya and Jayakanth stood by him as strong support in making this film, and without them “Gurram Paapireddy” would not have reached the audience. He described the event as a thank-you meet and said he would speak in detail at the success meet. He mentioned that audiences are laughing a lot at the comedy by Faria, Naresh, Raj Kumar and Vamsi, and that the production values are being widely appreciated. He added that the music, art work and visuals are all receiving good feedback, and thanked the entire cast and crew.
Producer Jayakanth (Bobby) said that the film is receiving good audience response along with positive reviews. He stated that the response for paid premieres was excellent, with more people attending than expected, and theatres are running houseful shows. He requested continued support from the audience to make the film a big hit and said he would arrange tickets from the production side for those who want them.
Music director Krishna Saurabh expressed his wish that the response the film has been receiving since yesterday continues throughout the week.
Actor Vamsidhar Kosigi said that “Gurram Paapireddy” has come with fresh content and that supporting such new-age films will encourage the making of more good movies. He said he himself felt surprised while watching the film in the theatre, noting that it is rare for a small film to have such strong production values. He added that the director often mentioned how the producers provided everything needed for the film, which is why it turned out with such quality. He said the movie is gradually picking up and requested more support to help it reach a wider audience.
Actor Raj Kumar Kasireddy said the film is receiving positive feedback from everyone, yet the producers and director are still feeling tense. He expressed confidence that good films will always succeed. He mentioned that Jivan’s character is receiving special applause and that he had told him during the shoot itself that the role would earn him appreciation. He added that people who watched the film are calling and talking about every character. He said “Gurram Paapireddy” is a two-and-a-half-hour entertainer and urged those who have not seen it yet to watch it. He also said the team would be touring Andhra Pradesh soon to meet audiences.
Actor Jeevan Kumar said that the film has been getting a huge response right from the premieres, with more viewers attending than the number of screens arranged. Seeing the response, the director trimmed the film further, and now with a runtime of 2 hours and 20 minutes, it completely entertains the audience. He said the entire team made a sincere effort to make people laugh and added that if small films with new directors and producers are supported, more such films will be made and the industry will thrive.
Director Murali Manohar said that due to the release of “Avatar”, the morning shows for their film started slowly, but from the matinee onwards the film picked up, reaching 90 percent occupancy by evening. He said that for a small film, such turnout is a matter of happiness for the team. He expressed hope that the film will receive even more appreciation over the weekend. He added that the team would be visiting theatres today and going on a tour of Andhra Pradesh over the next two days. He concluded by saying that they are confident the film will become a blockbuster.
Heroine Faria Abdullah said that she watched the entire film in the theatre along with the audience and that she views even her own films critically. She felt that the team performed very well and requested audiences to go to the theatre and watch “Gurram Paapireddy” if they want to support it, assuring them they will like it. She said Raj Kumar, Jivan and Vamsidhar brought a special spark to the film and added that it is not easy for a small film to reach audiences and achieve success. She said the entire team is confident about the film’s success and believes it will receive audience love and support throughout the week.
Hero Naresh Agastya said that the response to “Gurram Paapireddy” has been very good and that bookings on BookMyShow are encouraging. He said that theatres have been running at 90 percent occupancy since matinee shows. He mentioned that some lagging scenes and songs were trimmed and that the trimmed version is receiving a good response, with audiences laughing and enjoying the film. From his experience, he said that producers usually hesitate to spend much on production for small films, but “Gurram Paapireddy” proves how strong production values can enhance the overall quality of a small film. He praised director Murali Manohar for his passion in making the film and said that though he feels shy during promotions, Faria helped a lot in promoting the film effectively. He concluded by requesting audiences to continue the same response and make the film a success.
