Why Was Diljit Dosanjh’s Sutlej Removed from OTT?
Diljit Dosanjh’s Sutlej has run into fresh trouble after finally making its long delayed debut on OTT. The film, which struggled for nearly two years to secure a theatrical release, was recently released in OTT. However, just four days later, it was unexpectedly removed from the platform, leaving many viewers disappointed.
The OTT platform confirmed the takedown in an official statement, saying the film is currently caught in an ongoing legal process. It added that efforts are underway to resolve the issue and restore the film for streaming as soon as possible.
Directed by Honey Trehan, Sutlej is inspired by the work of human rights activist Jaswant Singh Khalra and explores one of Punjab’s most sensitive chapters in history. The film also stars Arjun Rampal in a pivotal role. Diljit Dosanjh’s performance had received widespread appreciation on social media, further boosting interest in the film.
The controversy intensified after several key scenes from the film surfaced online following its removal from OTT. Clips reportedly linked to the Khalistan movement quickly went viral, fueling fresh debates on social media. So far, neither the makers nor the lead cast have publicly commented on the latest developments.
With the legal dispute still unresolved, audiences are now waiting to see when Sutlej will return to streaming and whether the ongoing issues will be settled soon.
