Vil Vithai releasing in theaters across Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka on July 7
‘Vil Vithai’ directed and bankrolled by S. Hari Uthraa on Uthraa Productions banner will release in theaters across Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka on July 7.
Starring Arun Michael Daniel and Aarathya in lead roles, ‘Vil Vithai’ is a racy social psycho thriller based on true events. Janaki, Vaishnavi, Guna, SMT Karunanidhi, Keluvai Suresh Kumar and others have played important roles in ‘Vil Vitha’. Theatrical rights of the film have been acquired by Mukil Creations.
The film’s director, Hari Uthraa has previously directed the movies ‘Theru Naaigal’, ‘Padithavudan Kizhithu Vidavum’ and ‘Kaltha’. ‘Theru Naaigal’ focused on the anti-methane protest held in Kathiramangalam, ‘Padithavudan Kizhithu Vidavum’ was based on insurance scams, and ‘Kaltha’ shed light on the unsafe disposal of medical waste. All these movies were made to emphasize important messages to the society, besides delivering engaging content to the audience. Moreover, it is noteworthy that ‘Kaltha’ won more than twenty awards.
Director Hari Uthraa says he has made ‘Vil Vithai’ too with social responsibility. “It is a psycho-thriller film. I directed it based on some much-talked-about true incidents. Arun Michael Daniel, who is the co-producer of the film and plays the lead role, has given an excellent performance in two new different shades. The film has taken shape very well. ‘Vil Vithai’ is something that everyone will enjoy and think about,” he said.
Sivakumar Ganesh, who worked under famous cinematographer Velraj, is making his debut as a cinematographer through this film. AJ Alimirzaq, who has composed music for films like ‘Thee Ivan’, ‘Vaathiyar Kaalpandhatta Kuzhu’, has scored music for ‘Vil Vithai’. Kishore M has handled the cinematography.
‘Vil Vithai’ has been shot in places like Mannargudi, Thanjavur, Kumbakonam, Ramanathapuram, and Paramakudi. Night scenes were shot over 25 days in a realistic setting like a dilapidated building. Kuwait-based Tamil writer Vidyasagar has penned lyrics for a song in the film. R Usha and Arun Michael Daniel are the co-producers of the ‘Vil Vithai’.
